Earth is the third planet from the Sun and is the largest of the terrestrial planets. Fascinating stuff. Unlike the other planets in the solar system that are named after classic deities the Earth goes against the grain and chose a name to fame with its aim, hailing from the Anglo-Saxon word "erda" which means ground or soil, not to be confused with mierda. The Earth was formed approximately 4.54 billion years ago and is the only known planet to support life.
If the planet stopped rotating, all that water would keep going at the speed the earth rotates and flood something. You do the math.
